Chris joined Newham Music as Head of Instrumental Music in 2008, becoming the Joint CEO in 2012. In 2017 he was called back to be Interim Senior Director during a short transition period.
Chris is a professional percussionist, actor and writer, with both maths and music degrees. An internationally known performer of contemporary percussion, he has performed worldwide, at the BBC Proms and as a soloist at several festivals. He has also performed as a cabaret entertainer in New York. His book World Beats is published by A&C Black and he is an award-winning playwright, taking his latest play ‘Get Fit With Bruce Willis’ to both the Edinburgh and Brighton Fringe Festivals. In his spare time, he is a music examiner for ABRSM.
