An Evening with Newham Music

Join Newham Music for an extraordinary evening of youth music-making at the world-famous Barbican Centre, London.

A fantastic line-up of ensembles from Newham make their London debut, showcasing the wonderful work produced in the borough. The concert features:

-Newham Philharmonic, the brand new orchestra for London featuring young musicians from across the capital performing Brahms’ Symphony no. 1

-Newham Guitars performing ‘Spooks’ by Anna Meredith commissioned by Newham Music featuring guitarists & ukulele players from Plashet, Eastlea, Lister and Rokeby secondary schools with Elmhurst and Selwyn primary schools

-Roma Bridging Sounds Orchestra performing traditional Roma music

-Play Dub Now with The Jazz Warriors International performing their original work created with Kingsford Secondary School, Gallions, Vicarage & St Michael’s primary schools

-Lister School’s Jazz Band
