Industry Takeover Seminar

October 21, 2015 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

CMU founder Chris Cooke leads an exploration of ‘The Music Industry: A Blueprint. The Industry for Me and Where Do I Fit?’ with Jade Richardson (A&R Manager Virgin EMI Records), Mike Malak (Booking Agent, Coda), and Phil Kemish (Disrupt LDN).

The myth-busting session will discuss the breadth of roles and opportunities available and where the money is. Find out about the different ways artists generate revenue from their music, and the different business partners they work with, including record labels, music publishers, promoters, agents, merchandisers and collecting societies.

Speakers

Seminar chair Chris Cook heads up CMU Daily and its educational and workshop programme CMU: DIY. Their daily bulletin is industry gold dust, covering the latest news, trends and insight.

Universal’s A&R Manager Jade Richardson works with the likes of Sinead Harnett and Gorgon City, having previously worked at Polydor and EMI, she launched ILUVLIVE, which helped birth the likes of Tinie Tempah and Ed Sheeran.

Coda Agency’s Mike Malak is one of Music Week’s 30 Under 30 and represents Jess Glynne, Pusha T and Jay Electronica. He cut his teeth touring with the Black Eyed Peas and recently launched KID Talks, a programme aimed at helping young people secure creative careers.

Format

All sessions include a panel discussion, Q&A, and dedicated networking opportunities; swap cards with industry movers, spark new contacts with peers and start a revolution.

Admission to the seminars is on a first come first served basis. Access to the post-seminar networking session is for UD Creatives members only.

The seminar will be recorded by Reprezent Radio.
