London Jazz Festival workshops

Workshop for young musicians
2.30pm – 4pm / Upstairs / £5

Join NYJO’s Musical Director, Mark Armstrong, and six super talented musicians from the ensemble for this 90-minute workshop where you’ll learn about the jazz tradition, develop your improvisation skills and learn a piece to perform at the following concert.

Suitable for all instrumentalists aged 13-19. Please advise box-office of your instrument when booking.

Jazz Jam and Academy performances
4pm – 9pm / Upstairs / £5 or free for young musicians (Booking required. You will be asked for proof of age when you collect your tickets, book over phone or in person to avoid booking fee.)

The NYJO academy has a reputation for training some of the best young musicians in the country. In this showcase you’ll hear from three of the academy ensembles led by Phil Meadows, Gemma Buckenham and Sebastiaan De Krom after a 60-minute Jazz Jam session for young musicians (under 19). So come down, bring your instrument and find out what the NYJO Academy is all about.
