The first Inspiration Event for Newham Music’s Youth Ensemble Scheme (YES!) 2023-25. 

Innovative contemporary string quartet Modulus Quartet and composer Nicholas de Carlo present The Gagarin Quartets, charting the story of the first human space flight by Yuri Gagarin in 1961. 

The show will include an immersive audiovisual performance, composer Q&A and interactive workshop, presented by Rachel Leach (Animateur, LSO).

Newham Music’s YES! supports school music teachers to lead high quality group music opportunities for their students, with a focus on creative, student-led music making. 

This year, Newham Music is inspiring students to create their own music around the theme Space Is The Place, working in partnership with Rachel Leach, Modulus Quartet and Kinetika Bloco.
