The ever-enigmatic group of established musicians led by Arthur Jeffes perform immersive avant-pop music that combines elements of classical, ambient, world and folk.

Founded in 2009 by Jeffes, Penguin Cafe brings together a group of musicians from the likes of Suede, Gorillaz and Razorlight. Formed as a follow-up to the late Simon Jeffes’ Penguin Cafe Orchestra, the group have furthered the legacy of the original band as well as cementing their own sound. Their performances offer a modernised take on PCO classics alongside their own original material.

Penguin Cafe embrace influences from African, Venezuelan, Brazilian, bluegrass, classical, avant-garde and minimalist music, using instruments that include strings, pianos, harmoniums, slide guitars, cuatros, kalimbas, experimental sound loops and mathematical notations.
