SoundEast

May 23, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

£5

A festival of young music-making, culminating in 600 performers coming together on the Barbican stage to perform everything from samba to jazz, classical to pop.

Working in partnership with eight Music Hubs in East London, we’re bringing young people aged 7–18 to work together and enjoy all things musical. Meeting each other for the first time in the morning, this evening will be the result of a day’s learning and cross-pollination of musical ideas. In a time where the debate around music education is as heated as ever, this is a celebration of the talent, passion and enthusiasm that young people across London have for music.

Each ensemble will be made up of young people from the city, including a 30 piece percussion group, 60 piece orchestra, 200 piece choir, 200 beginner instrumental band and 20 piece jazz, funk and pop group. Come and listen to the diversity of talent in our London communities and support the future generation.
