The Multi-Story Orchestra: A Musical Journey

October 3, 2021 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

£8

The Multi-Story Orchestra presents a wild and wonderful work from Julius Eastman, opening our new Family Series with a musical journey for ages seven and over.

More than three decades after his death, the world is at last giving Eastman the recognition he never gained in his lifetime – and certainly didn’t seek.

The music combines the propulsive thrust of the minimalist composers with a hint of Caribbean music and the party vibe of disco. But it won’t be long before that same music descends into anarchy…

This 90-minute experience takes you on a musical journey around our site, starting in either the Royal Festival Hall or Queen Elizabeth Hall building, and culminating in a seated performance in the Queen Elizabeth Hall.
