The award winning
music hub for Newham

Goodbye 2016, hello 2017!

2 December 2016

2016 has been a fantastic year for us here at Newham Music!

We have worked with over 10,000 children and young people in and outside of 90% of schools across the borough ranging from Whole Class Instrumental Teaching in schools, instrumental and voice lessons, choirs, ensembles and bands plus our portfolio of projects including Feeling Music for deaf and partially-hearing children and young people and Music Works for young adults with profound and multiple learning difficulties.

Our highlights include An Evening with Newham Music at Barbican, Festival of Youth 2016 at Troxy and Roma Bridging Sounds Orchestra performing at the Music for Youth Proms at the Royal Albert Hall in November.

We’d love for you to come along and celebrate the end of a brilliant year at one of our Christmas concerts – part one is at 2pm, Saturday 3 December at Chobham Academy and part two is at 6.30pm, Monday 5 December at St John’s Church Stratford.

We would also like to say a big thank you to all of our teachers and staff, schools, funders, parents, carers and families and to the young musicians of Newham too for all their hard work!

The Newham Music team.
