Opportunities for young people
London is the best place to be when it comes to music & culture, but sometimes it can be hard to know where to look for opportunities.
That’s why we’ve compiled a list of music-based schemes and opportunities, as well as entry level and more senior jobs in the creative industries, for young people from across the capital. The list is not exhaustive but is a good place to start. Have a look and go and get involved!

Small Green Shoots | The Young Shoots Programme
A free unique 6-month employability programme built around the needs of a young person. 3 day week employment week and trained in key areas directly suited to the music and creative industries. All to help support a long term industry career. You are given a personal development pathway and mentored to attain the necessary skills to progress to a secondment placement within the industry

Roundhouse| Music Producers Drop In 18-25
These sessions are located at Roundhouse Studios. It takes place every Thursday from 5.30-8.30pm, from 23 January – 27 March (no session half term, 20 February). This is taught by Roundhouse’s team of music production tutors – hands on to help you develop your skills and tracks. No need to book, just pay £2 on arrival. Rich Mix | New Creatives 2026
New Creatives is a programme which focuses on building the next generation of live event producers aged 16-21. The project explores the skills needed to put on your very own event in a collaborative environment here at Rich Mix. Through industry talks, trips, networking, and weekly workshops, this programme will inspire you as a team to bring all your collective ideas to life.
Rich Mix | Music Makers
Are you an upcoming rapper, musician or just started music production? Keen to start writing & recording your own songs?
Develop your skills and meet other young artists! Sessions take place weekly on Wednesdays, 5–7pm from Wed 19 Jun 2025.
Yeah Youth | Music Project (16-22)
Whether you are an aspiring music producer, artist, music manager, DJ, Radio Presenter, DJ, podcaster or events manager, you will be guided by artist mentors, learn from panels and talks, have access to free studio, work with our brand partners, performance opportunities and access to a network of a like minded pro active community to help you progress in your goals.
Links Studio
Fully functioning recording studio, for young people to give them a safe space to learn and grow through creativity.
10-25 year-olds can learn how to produce and record digital music, take part in rehearsals to enhance their live performance skills, and learn about creating and recording podcasts.
