Musical Half Term Opportunities for All Ages

While most of us might feel like we’ve just gotten back into the swing of things this year, February Half Term will be here before we know it! 

This year, Newham schools, as well as schools across the country will enjoy a bit of down time during the week of 13-17 February. Make sure your young music makers spend the week exploring their creativity and check out a some of the great musical opportunities we’ve found to take part in this half term!

Urban Artists Half Term Academy – 13-17 Feb – NewVIc
Calling 14-17 year old singers, songwriters and producers! Come join Urban Development this half term where you will be writing and recording your own tracks, developing skills, and earning your Explore Arts Award! Children’s Singing Course – 13-17 Feb – Southbank Centre
Children aged 8-12 are invited to attend a daily workshop (9am – 3pm) where they will spend the week creating a performance for the final day of the Imagine Children’s Festival. They will sing and write songs and stories inspired by classic Nordic tales, lead by Filament Theatre Company directors Osnat Schmool and Sabina Netherclift. No auditions necessary; just bring your enthusiasm, energy, and commitment (as well as a packed lunch and comfy clothes)! Click here to find out more.

14-16 Feb – Debussy and the Snow Elephant (Ages 0-4)
15 Feb – Beat Goes On Body Percussion Workshop (Ages 8+)
15 Feb – Hevisaurus (Ages 3+)
17 Feb – Oddjob (interactive Jazz performance) (all ages)
17 Feb – Songs to Tell Stories (singing course performance) (all ages)
