Our weekly programme of musical workshops continues this Spring Term, with some new additions….

Flotsam Orchestra Rehearsals

Mondays | 6-9pm

Flotsam Orchestra rehearsal for adult singers and players (18+) of all acoustic instruments.

The Flotsam Orchestra is a unique music collaboration, organically formed through Flotsam Sessions, bringing together talented musicians, spanning diverse backgrounds and cultures through music. Come and learn songs and tunes from across the world with us on Mondays at Newham Music. We always learn by ear and all levels and backgrounds are welcomed – bring your acoustic instrument or just yourself and your voice!

First Steps

Tuesdays
10-10.45am – Baby Steps (0-18 months)
11-11.45am – Toddler Steps (18-36 months)

Thursdays
10-10.45am – Family Steps (under 5s)
11-11.45am – MotherEase (Mum and baby 0-9 months)

Saturdays
9.30-10.15am – Baby Steps (0-18 months)
10.30-11.30am – Family Band (under 7s)
11.45am-12.45pm – Family Band (under 7s)

The classes build a wide range of skills such as listening, language and communication skills, and social skills such as sharing and turn taking, as well as musical concepts such as pitch, pulse, rhythm, and dynamics.

Vocal Academy

Tuesdays
4-5pm – Singing Stars (ages 5-8)
Join in singing games, sing your favourite songs, and explore your love of music.

5.15-6.15pm – Junior Repz (ages 8-12)
Learn a wide range of songs, develop vocal technique, get opportunities to perform, and meet others who love singing.

6.30-8pm – Musical Theatre Singing Club (ages 12-17)
Explore musical theatre, develop vocal skills for the stage, and get involved in Newham Music’s projects and performances.

Free music making opportunities for young people!

Studio Sessions are for those who want to make original music and gain skills in music production. In our weekly workshops, you can learn recording and mixing techniques from industry professionals, use Newham Music’s equipment and recording booth, and produce your own tracks.

Sing East: Adult Choir

Thursdays | 7.30-9pm

Improve your mind, body, and soul through the power of singing! Meet new people, improve your vocal skills, and get opportunities to perform. All experiences welcome. For ages 18+

Creative Futures

Saturdays | 2.30-4pm

Newham Music’s artist development club for ages 16-25. Compose and perform your own music, develop yourself as an artist, build your network, and organise your own events.

Music Producer Club

Saturdays | 5-6.30pm

Music Producer Club creates space for young people to nurture their digital music-making ambitions, skills and identity through composition, production and performance. It creates high quality, impactful experiences for young people through music technology and linking to the music industry. Over 10 weeks, professional producers will teach participants how to make their own electronic music with industry-standard Ableton software. It is run by Create Define Release – a Black-led music and talent development organisation with a deep heritage in the UK’s grassroots electronic  music scene.

Sundays

All-ability accessible music-making sessions for Disabled and neurodivergent children and young people with their parents, carers, and siblings.
