Newham’s Community Opera at the Royal Albert Hall

3 October 2019

Newham Music is so excited to be taking over 600 young musicians to perform at the Royal Albert Hall next month!

Children and young people from schools across Newham are busy preparing for their massed performance of Newham’s Community Opera: Full Circle at the Royal Albert Hall next month. The performance is one of only two massed groups taking part in the Music for Youth Proms.

Participating schools include: Oasis Academy Silvertown, The Cumberland School, Britannia Village Primary, Lister Community School, Gallions Primary, Rokeby School, Portway Primary, Selwyn Primary, Plashet School, Langdon Academy, St Angela’s Ursuline, Sarah Bonnell, St Helen’s and Nelson Primary.

Full Circle is a community opera that is entirely created by Newham’s young people – their words, their music. The project has been inspired by togetherness, belonging, and second chances. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity celebrates the rich cultural diversity in our community and the wealth of talent and creativity in our young people.
