Music CAN Pay the Bills!

March 2025 saw our first ever annual Newham Music Careers Evening, all about pathways into the music industry for young people in Newham.

Our Careers Evenings are a chance for young people in secondary schools to meet and hear from people who are earning a living through music.

The evening included:

  • guest speakers from the music industry
  • information about local and national opportunities
  • workshops in music production and preparing for an audition
  • performances from Newham Music Academy students

The partner organisations attending included Guildhall School of Music and Drama, University of East London, National Youth Jazz Collective, Sound and Music, Sadler’s Wells Academy Breakin’ Convention, UD, Abram Wilson, EFDSS National Youth Folk Ensemble, Royal Corps of Army Music and Create Define Release.
