Newham VIBES Radio

Newham VIBES Radio was a project for young people aged 14 – 19 considered to be living in challenging circumstances, for example they may be at risk of being involved in criminal activity or risk exclusion from school and or college.

The project looked at many areas of radio production including how to plan, create and collect show content and how to broadcast online in addition to working on music technology skills like DJing, making jingles and editing tracks. In addition to the practical and technical skills, the young people learned the project was also focussed on encouraging team work and a creating a safe space for them to explore issues they faced.

Newham VIBES Radio was kindly supported by Garfield Weston Foundation.
