Unmasking Is A Process: A songwriting workshop for Autistic Adults
Led by Autistic musician and community advocate MIRI and Autistic arts-expresser, performer and writer Sumita, this workshop will explore what it feels like to unmask whilst navigating people’s perceptions and misconceptions of autism; the importance of showing up as yourself and the challenges that this can sometimes bring.
The workshop is for over 18s who identify as autistic, including those who have been diagnosed later in life. Please let us know if you’d like to bring a support worker by emailing info@newham-music.org.uk.

Our Musical Theatre Singing Club consists of 12-17 year olds, and over the last term they have worked very hard to create their own musical by writing a story and weaving in songs from different existing musicals to support the plot. Exploring themes of freedom and what it means to fight back as a community of young people, this show is a beautiful piece of storytelling by some very talented young people.
